 | | TRIBUTE TO WOLGANG SCHÄUBLE | | 22/01/2024 A key figure in the peaceful reunification of Germany, Wolfgang Schäuble, former German minister and President of the Bundestag, passed away on 26 December. He was one of the Foundation's friends, and a member of its Board of Trustees, which hosted him on several occasions in Paris. Jean-Dominique Giuliani described him as "the most European of Germans". A national memorial ceremony was paid to him on 22 January in Berlin. | | Read the article |

 | | Results of the first round of the presidential election in Finland | | 29/01/2024 On 28 January, former Prime Minister and National Coalition Party candidate Alexander Stubb and former Foreign Minister and Green Party member Pekka Haavisto came out ahead in the first round of the Finnish presidential election, with 27.21% and 25.8% of the vote respectively.
