Rising rents: If you’re a renter, you’ve probably noticed you are paying more. A report this week says the average renter in New Orleans doesn’t earn enough money to comfortably afford a two-bedroom place in the city, Sophie Kasakove reports.
Costco in Covington: Some retail news making a wave on the north shore. Land clearing has started on a site near Covington where officials have said a Costco store, the first on the north shore, is slated to be built. Joni Hess reports that the time line is still a little hazy.
First class: New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell’s travels are in the news again. The mayor and two aides spent more than $30,000 in public money to fly to South Korea, some of which included first-class accommodations, Joseph Cranney reports.
