Sandra Hill was six years old when she was taken from her family in 1958. | But as she told The Art Show’s Namila Benson, it wasn't until years later that she found herself able to reconnect with her culture and community through art.
The arts team tell me they’ve never had a bigger response to an interview – so I highly recommend catching up if you haven’t had a chance to listen yet.
You can also read the article and see some of Sandra’s art for yourself.
And in a week where there’s been lots to worry about, we’ve also been launching a couple of projects that we hope will build our community and be a space for important conversations.
You might have heard about our Book Club – and it’s back on air, with Cassie McCullagh and Kate Evans talking about Australian fiction.
Plus, as of this week, it also has a Facebook group where you can chat directly with other book lovers, our books specialists, and some of your favourite authors. We’d love you to join us!
And we’ve just launched the program for our Big Weekend of Books, which is happening on June 20 and 21.
The full line-up is online – so now’s the time to start planning what to listen to on the shortest days of the year.
