Our Favorite Travel Stories of 2023

Another year of travel down, and it was a big one. In fact, at the close of the year, international tourism will have reached close to 90% of pre-pandemic levels, which means next year will be a big one, too. But before we start looking too far into the future, a look back.

If you've been following along, then you already know that we went to a lot of places this year. Like, a lot. From Australia, Nepal and Albania, to Lethoso, Chile, Norway and all over the continental U.S., our correspondents spent 2023 traveling the globe so that your travel-inspo cup never ran dry. It is our sincerest hope that the resulting stories we told inspired you.

So, with that said, here are a few of those stories from the past year. And who knows? Maybe they'll be of use when it's time to book your first big trip of 2024, too.

Happy travels.
