Art-inspired Socks

Of course these beauties are at the top of everyone’s list this holiday season. The socks, which feature designs that draw from influential works in art history, made their Hyperallergic Store debut last fall, and they’ve been a runaway hit ever since. African Geometric Patterns Scarf

The bògòlanfini — a handmade Malian cotton fabric dyed with fermented mud — that this soft wool-and-silk scarf recalls can be viewed today at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Created during the 19th–20th century, the original cloth is a typical example of traditional textile work by Bamana weavers and dyers.
