Friend,

Every child should have a hope for a bright future and a chance to succeed in life. But for the kids born in Roma communities in Albania, a better future is not an option. Being a Roma means being an outcast.

You and I know that even the outcasts have hope through Jesus. Jesus invited the outcasts to His table. Will you?

But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind.  Luke 14:13

Meet: Briel age 2 and Denisa age 8. They live in a Roma community in Tirana, Albania, one of the poorest countries in Europe. Their lives are very different from the lives of the kids in the United States and worse than the lives of other kids in Albania.

This beautiful season, as you celebrate the birth of our Lord, you can be a Christmas miracle by choosing to sponsor one or more children through the World Missions Alliance child sponsorship program. With a sponsorship of $40/month, Denisa, Briel, and their families can discover what Christmas is all about and receive a chance to dramatically improve their lives.

According to the statistics from the European Commission in Albania 78% of the Roma population (the Gypsy minority) live in poverty and 39% in extreme poverty. Only 12% of the Roma children are enrolled in secondary school, compared to a national average of 81%. Social factors and the mobility of certain groups create a lack of access to education and health services. Weak or non-existent birth registration of Roma children in Albania, as well as lack of personal documents, makes them particularly vulnerable to human trafficking. Roma women are rarely able to obtain work. Discrimination against the Roma people is still widespread, and they are being frequently evicted by their landlords.

Your full sponsorship of $40/month or a partial sponsorship can help these children eat better, learn to read and write, to advance in their studies, and to have a chance to go to college. Above all, you will let them know that they are loved by Jesus. Would you consider with prayer "adopting" one of them and helping them become everything Jesus wants them to be?

Your monthly sponsorship can change their lives forever through better nutrition, education, medical care and spiritual help.

Denisa - Age 8

Denisa - Age 8

Denisa is a quiet girl who loves to help as much as she can. She does not attend school. She stays at home with her mother. Her favorite color is white. Mostly she likes to play with dolls. When she grows up, she wants to become a teacher. She has one sister and one brother. Denisa lives with her parents, siblings and grandparents . The only one who has a job in the family is her father who works as a garbage collector.

Sponsor a Child

For over 25 years World Missions Alliance has been bringing the Gospel to the nations and is personally involved with each child you see in the sponsorship program. Through this child sponsorship project you can help the kids from marginalized and impoverished communities and give them a chance to succeed in life in spite of being born into poverty, just like Jesus wants them to.

A total monthly sponsorship of $40/month will provide each one of them with:

HEALTH CARE

Once every two months or when needed, the doctor comes to the center to do a general checkup for each child who has been sponsored.

FOOD SUPPLIES

Every child who is sponsored takes a bag filled with food supplies every two months. The bag includes essential supplies such as rice, pasta, salt, sugar, oil, flower, etc.

EDUCATION

During the school season (September-June), children are helped and supervised with their homework and school progress two times a week.

DISCIPLESHIP

All the children who are registered in the program are part of their local church, where they go every Sunday. In addition, they will have another day during the week to gather and talk more about what they have learned at Sunday school. Because of their age differences, they are separated into two groups on two different days.

BIRTHDAYS AND CELEBRATIONS

Each month we have a birthday celebration for every child who had their birthday that month. Usually, the birthday party will be at the end of the month except when there are other celebrations (Christmas, Easter, etc.) It will be on the same day.

You can:

  • Sponsor one child or multiple children

  • Choose a full sponsorship ($40/month) or a partial sponsorship (shares of $10, $20 or $30/month).

  • Give a one-time gift in any amount or to cover an entire year

As a sponsor you will receive regular updates and photos from the child's life, as well as reports from the program leaders of how they progress within the program. You can send notes, prayers, observe how God works in their lives, and know that you have played an important part.
