Outside study of UL Lafayette shows students, taxpayers win as it contributes $2.7B statewide

Good Monday morning, Acadiana business news readers. It's business news time. Let's dive in. 

A study commissioned by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and released last week revealed the institution had a statewide economic impact of $2.7 billion in Fiscal Year 2022. That total supports more than 34,600 jobs — 1 out of every 78 jobs in the state. UL’s $1.7 billion economic impact in Acadiana supports more than 25,100 jobs — 1 of every 15 jobs in the region.

“This means that 1 of every 78 jobs in Louisiana is supported by the activities of UL Lafayette and its students,” the report read.
