Palladium’s Envoy Global adds immigration practice; European mid-market in focus

Good morning, Nina Lindholm here with the Europe Wire from the London newsroom.

The mid-market is in focus this morning as we start with an add-on deal by Palladium Equity-backed Envoy Global acquiring a global immigration practice.

Next, we have another add-on deal, as Battery Ventures-backed Forterro has picked up a software provider for the global window, door and façade industry.

We then delve deeper into the mid-market with the help of Invest Europe’s latest Mid-Market Private Equity: Europe’s Engine for Growth report.

To finish, we highlight a guest that PEI Group, the publisher of PE Hub, welcomed to its London office yesterday: Wol Kolade, managing partner at Livingbridge. Kolade updated us on a foundation promoting equity of opportunity in investment management.

International expansion

Palladium Equity-backed Envoy Global has acquired Smith Stone Walters.

For more on the deal, check out the premium Wire coverage here.

Door division

Forterro, backed by Battery Ventures, has announced the acquisition of Orgadata, a software provider for the global window, door and façade industry.

Premium Wire subscribers can learn more here.

Battery Ventures partner Zak Ewen spoke to PE Hub when the firm reinvested in Forterro in 2022, describing the move as “resetting the clock.”

Critical link

Mid-market private equity is a “critical link” in the European investment ecosystem, said Eric de Montgolfier, CEO of Invest Europe, in the association’s latest Mid-Market Private Equity: Europe’s Engine for Growth report.

For my takeaways from the report, as well as our recent exit coverage, take a look at the full Wire coverage here.

For more on the mid-market, I highly recommend reading Craig McGlashan’s Dealmakers to Watch piece from earlier this week, which features Astorg’s Lionel de Posson and Edouard Pillot.

Equity of opportunity

Wol Kolade, managing partner of London-based mid-market PE firm Livingbridge, stopped by PEI Group’s London office yesterday and gave us an update on the 10,000 Interns Foundation.

Premium Wire subscribers can learn more about the foundation here.

Livingbridge’s recent deals include a reinvestment in Quorum Cyber. Partner Matthew Jacobs spoke to PE Hub about the investment in June. Quorum acquired Difenda, a Microsoft security managed services company, in September.

That’s all from me this morning. Michael Schoeck will bring you the US edition later today and Craig McGlashan will write to you with the Europe Wire tomorrow.

Cheers,

Nina
