A new pattern from Silvia K We've just taken delivery of some fabulous new Silvia K Ceramics, in a new pattern from the Brighton-based ceramicist. In an evolution of her 'Splash' tableware, Silvia's new designs are more highly decorated, in this instance with a palette of slate, sky blue, and muted seafoam greys and greens. All the pieces are wonderfully fine and light to handle, skillfully hand-crafted with rolled and slip cast terracotta and Silvia's signature glazes. Just delightful! See all of our Silvia K ceramics here, with more in the gallery. |

Boro on the Beach Join Hiroko & Nigel Aono-Billson (aka KOBO A–B) for a Boro or Ranru workshop in our classroom beside the sea on 15th June. Boro translates as old and tattered and is the most commonly used term when referring to the Japanese textile practice of patching or repairing garments using fragments or scraps of cloth.
You'll learn mending techniques, using scraps of both modern and vintage Japanese fabric, the use of visible Sashiko repair stitch techniques to enhance and strengthen textiles, and new approaches to creating textile projects using fabric scraps with traditional stitching techniques. All materails will be provided and there will be a range of vintage Japanese textiles available to purchase on the day should you wish to continue on from this session at home.
All the booking details are here. |

Sun's out, buns out... We're nowhere near Brighton's famed naturist beach, but you do see all sorts when you work on the seafront. We're no prudes, but we do ask that you at least wear your swimmers when you visit the gallery, or some strategically placed seashells. Come and see us. We are open 11am - 5pm seven days a week. Naturists by Clover Robin. On show in the gallery as part of our Cut & Paste exhibition. |
