I am prepping to co-host a small intimate going away party for my friend. I thought this would be a cute touch even though the items are going to be disposable.

Teacher's Day Pop Up Greeting Card

A token with a personal touch is much more valuable than ready made ones. It's the thought that counts, they say. So here's an idea for a pop-up greeting card you can make with your children for their teachers. This can also be made for any occasion.

How to Make Halloween Manikins
By poehere
I live on an island and unfortunately it is very hard to get decorations for Halloween. Therefore, I found a way around all this and made my own. Each year our markets will sell a few things for the kids to enjoy Halloween.

Embellish a Dollar Tree Pumpkin
By Sandi/Poor But Proud
I love the little foam pumpkins I get at the Dollar Tree. But let's face it, they are pretty "uninspired".

My toddler enjoys being nearby when I'm in the kitchen. She likes to play with some magnets that we have on our fridge. I thought it would be fun to make assorted wooden craft stick magnets.

This is a cute and easy seasonal Halloween frame you could make. Display your child's photos in here, or add a magnet to the back of the craft stick to hang on the fridge, or on a white board (to count down the days of Halloween).

Buy Cheap and Revamp Into Your Style
By 15mhhm15
I bought this chalkboard during last year's 90% Christmas sale at Target for only 30 cents (originally $3). I changed up the original bow that I did not like (which was a simple thin red bow) into this burlap bow. Now the chalkboard looks as if it was more expensive and looks nicer.

I love these pumpkins because they have a lovely vintage feel to them. When hung, they cast pretty shadows and show many dimensions whilst gently spinning. This is a great craft for all ages for the entire autumn season.

If you're someone who uses hair ties, you know they always seem to disappear. My girlfriends and I always stuff a new pack of ties in each others gift bags as they are always welcome. I thought it would be cute if this time around, I shaped the hair ties into cute lollipops to give them.

This is a recycled spiderweb/spider sign I made from recycle items I had saved. This pizza cardboard circle is transformed into this Halloween sign. All the items I used were free or items I already had at home.

Button and Seed Bead Earrings or Pendant
By ShirleyE
This is a tiny delicate piece of jewellery that looks very pretty either as earrings or on a fine chain as a necklace. Make a full set for a gift for an older child. In fact it really is so simple to make that a child of maybe 10 or 11 years old who loves crafty stuff would be able to make a set.

View on the Garden Adult Coloring Page
By Benetta
Here is an adult coloring page that would be a great project to color and decoupage to the bottom of a tea tray. You can add a vintage feel to the wall and the wooden shutter, which will make it even more suitable for a tea tray. The colored page can also be framed and used to adorn a wall in a vintage style bedroom.

Repurposed Helium Tank Jack-o-Lantern
By Ana
For parties I love those helium tanks that you can purchase and create your own balloon design from your home. I have used that for several functions. The problem was the empty tank. I decided to turn my tank into art! With spray paint and craft paints, I made a character piece for my yard.

This is a cute little craft project for older children. Younger children could get a finger pinched painfully so be careful. It doesn't take long to make and uses materials that many people already have around the house.

Substitute Screw Driver for Brother Sewing Machine
By Marty Dick
Those who read Thriftyfun on a regular basis are aware that many of my posts deal with the klutz in all of us. DH bought me this lovely sewing machine a few months ago. It has (or had, I have yet to decide which) an odd shaped little screw driver which I promptly misplaced.

Use Mod Podge for Crochet Knots or Frays
By Jackie H.
I am at all times crocheting something. Right now I am crocheting sports scarfs for a non-profit community organization. And often after I wash them you can see the ends where you change colors. The knots in the yarn. They are difficult to hide. I found a better way of disguising them.

I have made capes out of twin size black flat bed sheets. They're $5 at Wal-Mart. Just find the middle of 1 edge of the sheet, and cut straight to the opposite corner on the bottom. Do the same on the other side.
