Well we’re now 18 months into the new Drive show and I just wanted to thank you all for joining me on the journey. From chatting to award winning musicians to up and coming sports stars - I've learnt a lot and met the most inspiring people. Your calls and messages are always my favourite part of the day though. Our new segment 'Streets of Your Town' has been such a delight, meeting local legends from right around Perth. We’re trying to get to every suburb in Perth - so far Drive has visited Trigg, Como, Maida Vale, Sorrento, Fremantle, Rockingham, Gwelup, Wanneroo and more. My trip around the suburbs has introduced me to people like paramedic Karen Hollings and her service dog Angus And Serena Gamble in Hamilton Hill If you know a local legend you'd like to shine a spotlight on, they're normally rather humble folk so please do dob them in. You can get in touch with the program anytime JoT@abc.net.au to celebrate your suburb and your local legends. Now my kids aren’t particularly interested in my job, but when I mentioned I would be chatting to the writer David Walliams, my youngest actually took note. "But he’s on Britains’ Got Talent and I’ve read his books mum", she said. So tune in to Friday's show to hear from the legend David Walliams and stick around for 'Friday Drinks', where we digest the week's major happenings and make you laugh. As always, thank you for your support, keep listening to 720 ABC Drive and give me a call – I’d love to chat to you! Jo |
