Biography
Patricia Wilt was born and raised in the mountains of beautiful Western Maryland and now resides in nearby Southampton Township, Pa.. Her love for nature and animals started at a very early age, as did her desire to paint. In fact, her very first exhibition was when she was 15 years old. She took every art and photography class that was offered during her high school years. Her passion rewarded her with awards even at that young age. As life took over , she took time off to raise a family, but, her passion took back over later in life. Now as a full time artist, her time is split between her sought after commissioned pieces and work on originals in both studio and en plein air. Although her first love is painting domestic animals and wildlife, she is successful in landscapes and seascapes as well. Using light and color to create depth, her paintings seem to breathe as if alive. Patricia has had her work published in Allegany Magazine and numerous galleries ,shows and exhibitions throughout Maryland, West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia ,as well as, many online competitions.
Patricia did her secondary education at Allegany College of Maryland . She is a member of the Appalachian Pastel League, Maryland Pastel Society ,Western Maryland Watercolor Society, Allegany Art Alliance, William C., Gilchrist Gallery, Allegany Arts Council and Pennsylvania Watercolor Society.
