PawSox picked Worcester out of about 20 possible cities

Worcester was far from the only New England municipality hoping to get a shot to convince the Pawtucket Red Sox to call its city home.

Worcester city councilors expressed support for the city's plan to borrow $101 million for a new ballpark on Tuesday, with some stressing that they will still carefully review the proposal.

The Worcester Redevelopment Authority, the city body that will be overseeing the $101-million Canal District redevelopment project anchored by the Red Sox Triple-A affiliate is pledging to more quickly to meet the project's hasty timelines.

It took a special kind of 40 Under Forty winner to want photos taken at the Apex Center in Marlborough.

Harvard Bioscience CFO resigns

The chief financial officer of Holliston-based Harvard Bioscience has resigned shortly after the company reported record second quarter revenue.

The state's adult-use cannabis industry could clear a major hurdle Thursday as the Cannabis Control Commission is expected to approve licenses for two independent testing facilities.
