Cairns-based pharmacist Twomey said, "I am honoured to be entrusted to represent Australia’s more than 6,000 community pharmacies, at a time when the sector is doing more for patients than ever before." In accepting his election, Twomey also congratulated incoming National Councillors: Mario Barone, Catherine Bronger, and Peppe Rasso, New South Wales; Matthew Gillespie, South Australia; and George Tambassis, Victoria.
He recognised outgoing National Councillors David Heffernan, Judy Plunkett and Adele Tehan, NSW; Amanda Seeto, Queensland; Greg Scarlett, South Australia; and Paul Krassaris, Victoria for their contribution in what has been four years of great significance for the community pharmacy sector.
