Pharmacists in Tasmania are being given the green light to administer COVID-19 vaccines (COVAX) to children aged five to 11 years. The move brings the Island State into line with other jurisdictions across the country.
Under the updated Community Pharmacy Provision of COVID-19 vaccine in Tasmania Guidelines the shots will only be able to be given by pharmacists in approved pharmacies, with the immuniser having to apply to expand their scope to become authorised to administer COVAX in this age group by renewing their Immunisation Authorisation indicating that they have completed all requirements. More details in Monday's issue of Pharmacy Daily.
