TorQuest closes fourth mid-market fund at $925 mln hard cap

TorQuest Partners has raised the $925 million hard-cap target set for its fourth private equity fund, earmarked for investments in mid-market companies in Canada and the United States. The Toronto-based firm announced that TorQuest Partners Fund IV closed23 percent above its original target of $750 million. It is the largest fund raised by TorQuest since its founding in 2002.

Pamlico Capital has recapitalized Southfield, Michigan-based PrizeLogic, a developer of digital promotions for large consumer brands and retailers. No financial terms were disclosed. As a result of the transaction, PrizeLogic CEO Keith Simmons, CTO Tim Welch and CFO Jeff Blackman will retain a "significant" ownership stake in the company.

Prashant Fuloria has joined Fundbox as Chief Product Officer while Oren Katz was named Vice President of R&D and Michal Cieplinski was appointed General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer. Johnson Ma has also joined Fundbox as Vice President of Business Development. Fuloria was previously SVP of Advertising Products at Yahoo. Katz was with eXelate where he was VP R&D and General Manager, while Cieplinksi was previously MD and Senior Counsel at The Bank of New York Mellon and Ma was with Trial Pay.

TA Associates buys majority of Kiwoko

TA Associates has completed a majority investment in Masquepet SL ("Kiwoko"). Corpfin Capital and Prince Capital Partners sold 89.4 percent of Kiwoko to TA and Kiwoko's founders. Financial terms weren't announced. Madrid-based Kiwoko is a chain of pet care specialty retail stores in Spain. Latham & Watkins served as legal counsel to TA Associates. Alemany, Escalona & De Fuentes served as legal advisor to Corpfin Capital and Prince Capital.

AGCO Corp to buy Cimbria from Silverfleet Capital

Bain Capital Private Equity and Vista Equity Partners has closed its previously announced buy of insurance technology company Vertafore. The seller was TPG Capital. No financial terms were disclosed. BofA Merrill Lynch provided financial advice to Vertafore and TPG on the deal.

Capital Z Partners Management LLC said June 30 that it acquired Portfolio Group Inc. Frontenac Company LLC was the seller. Financial terms weren't announced. Lake Forest, California-based Portfolio Group provides finance and insurance products, as well as services to automotive dealers across the country.
