[Not displaying correctly? View web version.] | Peak-of-Flight Newsletter #559: | In early October, I attended the World Spacemodeling Championships in Bazau, Romania. This was an interesting trip, made more challenging by the Covid situation. In this article, I thought I'd document my own recollections of the contest, beginning with how we started preparing for the contest in 2019, and the obsticals that thrwarted our progress. It is kind of a different type of article for me, as it is more like a personal journal. It will let you inside my mind, and you'll see what kinds of things were making an impression on me. I do hope you gain some ideas of what it would be like for you, should you decide to attend the next world championships held in Texas in the summer of 2023. | Read the rest of this week's article, either on a downloadable PDF for printing out, or on our website (great for viewing on your phone)! Check out the latest products to hit Apogee's shelves! 5-Rocket Pad and Controller from IMPLS Launch Systems | The Fiver/Sport Bundle and Power Pack is a multi-pad system capable of launching up to five rockets. But it is more than just a single launch controller box that you hook to a battery. It actually contains four parts that work as a system for reliability and extra safety for your students. Plus the 12V launch controller battery is included too. Now you can launch rockets quickly one at a time, or all of them at once. It is a great system for schools or new rocketry clubs. |
N1 Rocket from Really Koo Stuff | With the detailed 3D printed parts, this 1/100th scale N1 rocket kit (from Really Koo Stuff) is a joy to build, and exciting to fly. At over 41-inches tall, this moon rocket will look great next to a Saturn V. Flies on high-thrust 29mm rocket motors. |
Quest B6-4W Motors | The Quest B6-4W rocket motor is for small light-weight rockets. It features the White Lightning composite propellant, which produces a brilliant flame and a dense amount of tracking smoke. It has more energy than a black powder motor. It's the same size and diameter as an Estes B6 motor, so it fits all your favorite rockets. But this is for single-stage rockets only, as it cannot be staged. We also have the B6-6W version as well. |

| “This is the third time that I have purchased from Apogee. They are clearly a fantastic company run by people who are passionate about model Rocketry. Great items, packaged fantastically with a great service. What more could a customer ask for? Thanks apogee.” -- Richard Boston | |

I'm now actively seeking writers for articles to appear in this newsletter. And I want unique and cutting-edge articles because that is what you want to read, right? I realize this, so to get articles from outside writers that have the same level of quality, I'm going to have to pay a lot of cash to make it worth it for them. So I've come up with a compensation package where I'll pay up to $350 for good how-to articles. Are you a writer, and does that interest you? That is a lot of cash! Far more than you'll get by writing for other magazines. And with over 23,000 worldwide subscribers, if you write for the Peak-of-Flight Newsletter, you'll gain a lot of notoriety. Writing for the Peak-of-Flight Newsletter is a great way to show off your rocketry projects and your technical expertise, at the same time as helping out other rocketeers. Imagine how great you'll feel knowing that you made a difference to the hobby. If you're interested in writing, see the guidelines on our site. | |
