BY CHRISTIAN CLARK | Staff writer Larry Nance Jr. made his Pelicans debut on Thursday. I have a feeling fans are going to like him. He's a high-IQ, team-first player. That much is clear already. He's also funny and engaging. It was refreshing to hear Nance on Wednesday talk about how excited he was to start playing for his new team. "Obviously, this is a team that is playing for something," Nance said. It might have taken a while, but the vision David Griffin and Trajan Langdon had when they took over in 2019 is starting to become a reality. They have prioritized hard-working, high-character players. Right now, the team vibes are good. "I’ve been in good locker rooms," Nance said. "I’ve been in bad locker rooms. Young and old. This is a great locker room. (Player) one through 15 has a voice in there." The Pelicans are one Zion away from being a dangerous playoff team. Williamson is eager to get back, but it remains unlikely that he returns to the court this season. New Orleans has two of its biggest home games in years this weekend. It faces the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday and the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday. See you at The Blender. -- Christian |
