Situational Analysis | October 30, 2023

It's Monday and National Candy Corn Day. Mmmmm.

What You Need to Know

  • Mike Pence suspended his campaign at a Republican Jewish Coalition gathering in Las Vegas on Saturday. “The Bible tell us that there’s a time for every purpose under heaven, and traveling across the country for the past six months, I came here to say it’s become clear to me this is not my time," he said. Former President Trump said Pence should endorse him.

Rapid Relevance

  • After a two-day manhunt, the mass shooter in Maine was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound; Matthew Perry, the actor who played Chandler in Friends, was found dead at age 54; both BYU and the U of U lost their football games over the weekend by the same lopsided score: 35-6.
