A Bureau of Labor Statistics report shows a greater percentage of workers do some or all of their work from home, and those people are also working more hours per day. Study: No pay gap at the top in biotech
Male and female biotechnology company leaders have roughly the same incomes, but female biotech leaders are generally more highly educated than their male counterparts, according to Thelander Consulting's 2016 Private Company Compensation Report. The researchers compared base pay for 155 male and 19 female CEOs in biotech, clean tech, medical devices and other technologies and found that biotech was the only sector in which there was no gender-based wage gap. Nearly 90% of female biotech CEOs have at least a master's degree and 51% have at least a doctorate, compared with 84.7% and 36% of men, respectively.
