Good evening everyone, There has been much talk in the past few weeks about when it is right to put up the Christmas decorations. Normally, it would be a moment saved until at least Dec 12 in this particular household and even then there would be much gnashing of teeth over the timing. But these are not normal times, are they? And so it seems that many of us will be battling with a string of fairy lights this weekend - those of us who have not already decked the halls and the outside of our homes, that is. And so, I have to confess that I have not only eaten my first mince pie of the season, but I have also had a Santa hat upon my head. In November. However, all of us may need to roll back on the festive joy a little. Scientists are fearful that our planned celebrations might be a little too over the top and we could land ourselves in a third wave of Covid as we enter the New Year. One has described allowing families to meet up ‘as nomal’ as ‘throwing fuel onto the fire.’ He may be right, But if we don’t allow a little freedom, people will end up ignoring the restrictions anyway. What do you think? Will you be putting your tree up this weekend or waiting until December 1 at the earliest?
