Peoria Zoo to reopen Friday as part of Phase 3 reopening

PEORIA - After more than two months of sheltering in place, the animals of the Peoria Zoo will again have visitors.

PEORIA - After almost two months, countless hours of debate and much hand-wringing, the Peoria City Council took another step to closing their budget shortfall.

PEORIA -- With a few ceremonial pieces of earth being turned, work began Wednesday on 30 new homes for the city's East Bluff.

PEORIA - A Tazewell County man is the thirteenth Tri-County resident to die from COVID-19.The man, who was in his 90s, was living in a long term care facility when he died, but he contracted COVID-19 before moving to the facility, said Monica Hendrickson, administrator of the Peoria City County Health Department during the daily COVID-19 press conference Wednesday.
