Celebrate the Queer APIA community

I hope you've had the chance to experience the incredible events during Asia North, the annual celebration of Baltimore's vibrant Charles North/Station North neighborhood that kicked off last month. With its ever-evolving identities as a Koreatown, arts district and creative hub, Asia North is a testament to the diversity and dynamism of the APIA community.

As we kick off Pride Month and near the end of Asia North, there are still exciting closing events that bring together the intersection of APIA diversity and LGBTQIA celebration. Don't miss the illuminating evening of staged readings of Queer Asian Plays and a Panel Discussion on Thursday, June 1 at 7 p.m. Held at The Parlor in Station North, this event will showcase rehearsed and staged readings by talented Queer Asian playwrights who are making significant contributions to contemporary American theatre. Under the direction of Mohammad Rohaizad Suaidi, an adjunct professor at Towson University's Department of Theatre Arts, these readings offer a unique glimpse into the multifaceted experiences within the Asian community.

After the performances, folks will be able to engage in a conversation with a panel of Asian art-makers. I hope you continue to celebrate the diversity, resilience, and creativity of this community and embrace the spirit of Pride Month at Asia North all year round.
