Crime victims: In Gov. Jeff Landry's special session on crime, Wayne Guzzardo and others who have lost their children to murder have taken center stage, James Finn reports. Guzzardo's idea of justice includes strict sentencing or the death penalty for offenders.

Insurance changes: The state's new insurance commissioner wants to let property insurers raise rates more easily, increase their profits and avoid some fines for violations, Sam Karlin reports. Tim Temple says the controversial changes will lure more insurers to Louisiana.
