Perspective-Taking at the Renwick
What do we gain by taking multiple points of view in history class? In our own lives?
Craft Connections: Art, History & Culture
October 25, 2017 (5:00 pm - 7:30 pm)

Perspective-taking... we know it's good to get out of one's own head, to walk a mile in someone else's shoes, or to see an issue through the eyes of another. It's necessary for grasping the complexity of historical events or navigating cultural differences in our increasingly-global society. What role might craft play in building this skill amongst your students? 

For the $10 registration fee, get special, after-hours access to the Renwick, a tasty dinner, and resources to take home.
 
Workshop Registration

When? January through June 2018
What? Help pilot test and shape new teaching resources.
Why? A stipend and bus funds for a 2018/19 field trip may be available to partnering teachers.

SAAM's website got more than a face lift; it got the works! 

If you had any trouble finding much-loved resources, shoot me an email--I'm happy to find it for you! If you have feedback (cheers or jeers), please let me know.

FREE Resources!
We were lucky enough to host American Visionary: John F. Kennedy's Life and Times - a retrospective marking the 100th anniversary of former President Kennedy's birth.

The handsome exhibition was accompanied by an equally-good-looking glossy brochure packed with information on JFK's life and times.

I've got three sets of 30 that need a home. If you'd like me to ship them to you (for free!), send your mailing address to me at DeinesE@si.edu.
