Live online training event: environmental fate and behaviour evaluation of pesticide plant protection products

This 3-hour training event will focus on the environmental fate and behaviour section of pesticide product submissions. The event will provide attendees with an overview of how HSEs environmental fate specialists consider pesticide product evaluations to meet regulatory requirements in Great Britain (GB) and NI (Northern Ireland).

The training will be delivered by HSE regulatory specialists and will help attendees improve the quality of their submissions, understand how these will be reviewed by the regulator and obtain insight into latest approaches.

Who should attend?

This course will be specifically designed for those with at least a basic working knowledge of environmental fate and behaviour who want to develop their expertise in this specific area further.

  • introduction to how HSE fate specialists assess plant protection products
  • data gaps, additional studies, and selection of endpoints
  • consideration of use patterns
  • use of risk envelopes
  • assessment of each environmental compartment
  • formulation predicted environmental concentrations (PECs)

Live online workshop: Maximum Residue Levels (MRLs)

4 5 December 2023

HSE will be holding a 2-day workshop on MRLs of pesticide residues in food. The aim of the event will be to raise awareness and provide guidance on the MRL processes and procedures in GB. The event will also cover MRL technical areas, MRL operational policy, Northern Ireland, and the monitoring of pesticide residues in food.

The session will be presented by experts from CRD who will be available to answer your questions throughout the event.

Who should attend?

The event is targeted at technical and regulatory staff involved in the production of data and submission of MRL applications to HSE. The event will also provide relevant information for parties who have an interest in the trade of commodities treated with pesticides.
