| | HSE will continue to accept evidence submissions using previous versions of these tools until 31 December 2025. When applying for pesticide registration in GB or NI, you must calculate predicted environmental concentrations (PECs) for each environmental compartment. There are several computer tools available for applicants to use when calculating PECs. HSE has made changes to its simple PEC tools and higher tier drainflow (HTDF) assessments. Applicants are encouraged to use these new tools in submissions now. To account for ongoing applications, HSE will continue to accept submissions using previous tool versions until 31 December 2025. The simple PEC tools that have been updated include: the HSE PECsoil calculator (version 2.1) the various individual PECsw/sed calculators (combined into one tool, version 2.1) The HTDF assessment has been updated to version 2.2. Other changes include: a minor update to parameterise grassland, correct a small number of parameters and improve performance in non-English installations publication of new processing calculators assisting in conducting standard Approach 1 and Approach 2 calculations publication of the EMMA tool which has potential to speed-up run times an update to the MACRO HTDF drainflow webpage to include details about HTDF assessments from higher tier regulatory acceptable concentrations, the new processing calculators and a detailed report regarding the generation of crop data used in the new processing calculators Visit our pesticides website for more information and to use the PEC tools.
