An integral part of Team dsm-firmenich PostNL’s opening two stage wins, the ever-reliable Pfeiffer Georgi unfortunately had to abandon the race during stage five after being involved in a crash. Since the start of the Tour de France Femmes, Georgi has ridden brilliantly as road captain, providing her strength not only in the lead-out and sprint successes with Charlotte Kool, but also riding strongly over the climbs to assist GC finisher Juliette Labous. Yet, her Tour journey unfortunately was cut short after a crash late in the stage saw her abandon with a broken hand and fractures in her neck, which will see her sidelined for the upcoming period.
