As previously announced in September 2022, PG&E is seeking approval to transfer its non-nuclear power generation assets to a newly formed subsidiary, Pacific Generation, and to transfer a minority ownership of the subsidiary.
 
Together, these reforms are meant to help accelerate permitting for everything from wildfire management and electric vehicle charging infrastructure to high-speed internet and semiconductor manufacturing.
A lack of air support and ineffective coordination hurt efforts to contain this year's Panhandle fires, the committee said.
