Walt Disney’s Female Employees File Sex Discrimination Lawsuit
Los Angeles, CA A group of current and former female employees at Walt Disney Co. claim they were paid at least $150 million less than men in similar middle-management positions, which violates the Fair Employment & Housing Act and California's Equal Pay Act.

3M to Settle PFAS/PFOA Water Contamination Lawsuit for $10.3 Billion
Stuart, FL On June 22, the 3M Company announced that it had agreed to settle a perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl (PFAS/PFOA) lawsuit brought by the City of Stuart, Florida for $10.3 billion. This will end the first bellwether PFAS lawsuit brought as part of the multidistrict litigation consolidated in the District of South Carolina. The settlement follows similar agreements made by Chemours, DuPont and Corteva. More settlements may be on the horizon. The collective judgment of the chemical companies seems to be that limiting future financial liability may be the best they can do. Although the details of each of these toxic contamination lawsuits are different, some facts are common.

Au Pairs Can Advertise Proposed Wage Collective
New York, NY A Massachusetts federal judge has given attorneys the green light to advertise their plaintiffs’ proposed wage collective, to the chagrin of Cultural Care Inc. The au pairs are seeking unpaid overtime wages from the agency. Culture Care, which claims to be the leading au pair agency and has been placing au pairs with American families for 30 years, attempted to strike almost 2,000 opt-in forms signed by au pairs by claiming that ads on the website the plaintiffs’ attorneys created were “improper and premature”.

Hair Relaxer Makers Challenge Hair Straightener Cancer Lawsuits as more Complaints Filed
Chicago, IL As hair relaxer lawsuits mount, L’Oréal and Revlon, Strength of Nature, Namaste and numerous other hair straightener manufacturers have filed a motion to dismiss allegations that they manufactured and marketed toxic hair-relaxing products that cause cancer and other serious health issues. The motion was filed on July 5 in the Northern District of Illinois by 14 defendant groups to dismiss the complaint filed by plaintiffs in the multi-district litigation (MDL) No. 3060.

Add Dental Problems to Camp Lejeune Injuries
Jacksonville, NC A number of veterans and their families who were stationed at Camp Lejeune between 1953 and 1987 believe their dental issues are linked to contaminated water at the Marine Corps base.
