Nestled in a beautifully renovated building in the heart of Basel, located less than 700 meters from Messeplatz and Art Basel, photo basel offers a unique setting for exhibiting photography.
For its sixth edition, photo basel welcomes Audrey Hoareau (FR) as the fair’s Artistic Director. Audrey Hoareau was working 12 years in the collection department of the musée Nicéphore Niépce in Chalon-sur-Saône (from 2003 to 2016). In 2016 she has contributed to the launch of the Lianzhou Museum of Photography in China and has become Assistant Director. In addition she currently holds the position as Artistic Director of "Circulation(s)", a photographic festival which promote emergent European photography in Paris.
Furthermore, Sarah Girard (Director, Biel/Bienne Festival of Photography), Christoph Kern (VFG) and Danaé Panchaud (Directrice Photoforum Pasquart) round off photo basel’s committee of experts.
