Archival Inkjet Print 2015 © Trine Søndergaard | | | | Contemporary photographic art from Denmark is the focus of the FFF online symposium PHOTOGRAPHY PLAYERS: DANISH PHOTO-ART SCENE on January 29/30, 2021. The event, which is hosted in cooperation with the Royal Danish Embassy in Berlin, and the Danish Ministry of Culture, includes talks and presentations with curators, artists and editors. On Friday, 29 January, 18:00 (CET) Celina Lunsford, artistic director of the FFF, Alison Nordström, international curator and art scholar, and the Danish photographer Torben Eskerod will discuss the making of and concept behind the current FFF exhibition FINDINGS. TORBEN ESKEROD. Curated by Alison Nordström, the show is installed, and it will open at the end of the current lockdown to be seen until May 09, 2021. This talk will be streamed online on the FFF youtube channel and on the FFF website www.fffrankfurt.org. | | | | | | From the series “Never Run Faster Than Your Guardian Angel Can Fly” ©Fryd Frydendahl | | | | On Saturday, 30 January, 14.00–19.00 (CET) the online zoom event will take place in two sessions and will be opened live by the Danish Ambassador to Germany, Susanne Hyldelund. The research librarian and photography curator Sarah Giersing will follow presenting "The National Collection of Photography" of the Royal Danish Library in Copenhagen. Photography expert and publisher Jens Friis will give insights into the Danish photo book scene and KATALOG, one of Europe’s longest running photo-art magazines. Various photo and film artists such as Inuuteq Storch, Torben Eskerod and Fryd Frydendahl will be highlighted, giving the creative evidence of their work, the curators Beate Cegielska, director of “Galleri Image” in Aarhus, and Kirstine Autzen will talk about the collaboration between exhibition makers and artists, using the current exhibition “Soil Studies” as an example, with some of the participating artists such as Lotte Fløe Christensen, Ditte Knus Tønnesen, Veronika Geiger and Inuuteq Storch. Furthermore, artist Fryd Frydendahl will talk about photographic education in Denmark, with an emphasis on her new position as the principal of the photo school “Fatamorgana” in Copenhagen.
