Hospitals struggle to share electronic medical records

Hospitals are failing to take advantage of the interoperability benefits of electronic medical records. Only 30% of hospitals are using (or sending) electronic medical records with outside organizations where a patient receives care, according to a study published in Health Affairs.   

“What this means is there is potentially a significant amount of waste and inefficiency in hospitals,” said lead study author Jay Holmgren of Harvard Business School in Boston.

How can the executive committee support physician-hospital alignment?

If the wheels on the car are not in proper alignment, then getting to your destination may be quite the challenge. Similarly, if the hospital and physicians are not aligned, reaching the desired destination will be a significant challenge.

2018 CRC Contests: Submission deadline extended!

The Credentialing Resource Center (CRC) team is extending the deadline to enter the 2018 CRC Symposium Case Study Competition and the 2018 CRC Achievement Awards, two application-based contests showcasing excellence in the medical staff services and leadership fields. The revised deadline for submitting contest applications is Monday, October 16, 2017.
