MIT OCW and the MIT 24-hour Challenge

Dear John,

It may come as no surprise that at MIT, we love math (among many other subjects). So it made perfect sense for March 14 – PI DAY – to be the official date of the MIT 24-hour Giving Day Challenge.

I hope you’ll mark next Wednesday on your calendar and help us reach a special goal. A wonderful and generous donor, Richard Soley, wants to encourage others to support and donate to OCW too. Richard will give OCW an extra $4,000 if 200 OCW learners donate on Pi Day!

A donation in any amount helps us continue to create, publish, and distribute free MIT educational materials that thousands of people need and access every day on our site.

We’ll be sure to send you a reminder when Pi Day arrives. In the meantime, please consider becoming a campaign ambassador and help us raise awareness about the challenge. Thanks in advance for helping us reach our goal.

Sincerely,
Joe

P.S. Your participation in the OCW Pi Day Challenge will be counted toward another Pi Day goal: Tau (6,283)! If the number of overall MIT supporters reaches Tau, an anonymous donor will give MIT a Pi donation of $314,519!
