At the age of 22 years and 349 days, Thomas Pidcock has made history by becoming the youngest winner of the Alpe d'Huez in the history of the Grande Boucle. Until Thursday, the youngest winner of the 21-corner climb was Luis "Lucho" Herrera, who was 23 years and 74 days old when he won in 1984, ahead of Laurent Fignon. The oldest stage winner in Alpe d'Huez is Joaquim Agostinho, who was 36 years and 99 days old when he won in 1979.
