Dogs. Chickens. The occasional rogue baby goat still small enough to squeeze under a fence. The stray animals most likely to show up on a farm are — no surprise! — cats. Over the years, I’ve had cats of all ages, sizes, shapes, and colors show up in my barn, toolshed, woodshed and yard. Some are only passing through. Some take up permanent residence.
