~Leo Dworken When you live way out in the country, you get used to having stray animals show up. Dogs. Chickens. The occasional rogue baby goat still small enough to squeeze under a fence. The stray animals most likely to show up on a farm are — no surprise! — cats. Over the years, I’ve had cats of all ages, sizes, shapes, and colors show up in my barn, toolshed, woodshed and yard. Some are only passing through. Some take up permanent residence. And some aren’t really strays at all — they just decide to hang out to see if what’s on my menu is more appealing than what’s being served at home. (Keep reading) |
