Planet Fitness Franchisee Taymax Acquires 14 Clubs in Florida and Georgia

These latest acquisitions in Florida and Georgia bring Taymax Group Holdings' club count to 90 locations and is its second major acquisition since private equity firm Trilantic North America acquired a majority stake in the franchise group in August 2018. In July 2019, Taymax acquired MJ Fitness, the operator of four Planet Fitness health clubs in Huntsville, Alabama.

Aerobic Fitness, Not Muscular Strength, Leads to Optimal Metabolic Health, According to New Research

The most aerobically fit study subjects exhibited superior metabolic profiles with healthy levels of proteins, good cholesterol and fatty acids, according to an analysis of 580 Finnish males. Interestingly, even the most muscularly fit subjects did not exhibit metabolic profiles that were as ideal as those at the top of the aerobic group.
