The Chief Planner yesterday issued a Direction which requires planning authorities to notify the receipt of any planning application for any Unconventional Oil and Gas developments to Scottish Ministers. Ministers can call-in an application at any time for it to be considered, ensuring that decisions on onshore unconventional oil and gas developments can be made having regard to planning policy and procedure, and the framework of Scottish Government policy.

Transforming Planning in Practice - reform work programme published

The Scottish Government has published its work programme for implementing the Planning (Scotland) Act 2019 and continuing its wider programme of planning reforms.  The work programme is available on the Scottish Government website https://www.gov.scot/publications/transforming-planning-practice-post-bill-work-programme/ .
