Plans to introduce quarantine-free travel for fully vaccinated Brits are being worked on by the UK government, Matt Hancock has confirmed.
View email online | | | | | Jun 22, 2021 | | | | | | Good evening, It’s become clear as we continue to fight the pandemic that the key to stopping community transmission is young people. They have done everything we have asked of them during lockdown and beyond. They have stayed home, they have not seen their friends, they have sacrificed their exams, they have returned to school on request, they have worn masks and they have worked in bubbles. They have sacrificed their proms and celebrations, key events and landmarks in their childhoods. They have waited patiently as the generations above them have been vaccinated, yet they have returned to their low paid, often front of house roles. They have borne the brunt of redundancies, of the furloughs. Many have been unable to go through their university plans, their travel plans, their social lives - at this key juncture in their lives. Now, surely its their turn. It’s become clear the Delta variant is being spread by young people, not by any fault of their own. They need protecting as soon, and as quickly as possible. It’s time to vaccinate the next generation - and fast. Enjoy your evening, Nicola nicola.adam@jpimedia.co.uk | |
