By KELLY P. KISSEL A man accused of killing five people in 2019 has pleaded guilty to some of the killings. Dakota Theriot was in a Livingston Parish courtroom this morning and pleaded guilty to three killings. He's scheduled to appear later today in Ascension Parish, where he's accused of killing his parents. In return for this pleas, prosecutors have opted against seeking his execution.
A video released by State Police shows a man begging to be killed by an officer. Troopers released the video to show the final moments of the suspect's life. Police officers say they found $2.5 million worth of cocaine in the man's car on I-10 near downtown Baton Rouge.
Air travel was fouled up for a time this morning because of a computer problem at the FAA. A system that gives pre-flight guidance to pilots was on the blink, so the FAA stopped all takeoffs for a time this morning.
