A Wisconsin police department was called to an apartment recently for quite the unexpected reason: there was an intruder in the home that needed to be removed…but it was a turkey.
The turkey frantically flew between rooms in the apartment as officers tried to wrestle the large bird. Officers wore protective gloves while trying to nab the bird, and one even tried to trap it in a net.
“It really underscores the unpredictable nature of the job, that our officers are asked to do at any given time,” Wausau Police Department Patrol Captain Todd Baeten said.
According to Irvine police, the vehicle suspected of being involved in several car burglaries in Orange County looked like it was taken straight out of a spy film.
Two Garden Grove residents, Yasmine Kambour and Chris Huynh, were detained on Tuesday morning after being spotted in a parking garage by a vigilant neighbor. The neighbor recognized them and their white 2008 Mercedes Benz C300 with white custom rims as the car linked to several vehicle burglaries a week earlier.
According to Irvine police, the officers discovered burglary tools, proof of identity theft, and stolen goods taken from a vehicle in Newport Beach inside the car. Additionally, the vehicle had "a sophisticated gas siphoning mechanism that transported fuel directly into the vehicle's gas tank."
