The ACLU is fighting back against anti-trans legislation

The ACLU has tracked almost 500 bills introduced in state legislatures across the country in 2023 alone that attempt to limit the rights of LGBTQ people — including limiting access to essential health care, censoring performances like drag shows, and silencing LGBTQ voices with classroom censorship.

Worst of all, many of these bills specifically target trans youth. State lawmakers are continuing to introduce wave after wave of these harmful measures — banning trans kids from school sports, denying access to gender-affirming medical care, and even unlawfully threatening to remove adolescents from loving homes.
