Disconnecting from work to enjoy the holidays can be difficult, but winding down projects in advance, making sure the person standing in for you feels informed and appreciated, and opening up about your personal plans may help. In addition, creating a realistic plan that involves occasional but time-limited check-ins if needed and proactive conversations about ground rules for vacations can help mitigate stress.
