For recent college graduates, unemployment hit 20% in June, compared with 13% after the 2008 recession, according to the Labor Department. Some economists fear this crucial time out of the labor market will put this age group at a long-term disadvantage as they miss out on networking and job growth opportunities.

Calif. gig worker law comes down to Nov. 3 vote

A California appeals court upheld a previous ruling that Uber and Lyft must reclassify drivers within the state as employees. The ruling won't come into effect until after the issue is voted on by residents on Nov. 3 via a Proposition 22 ballot, when the state's gig worker law could be repealed.
