Employers want workers to use their vacation time, as a break can help employees avoid burnout as well as become an accounting liability on corporate balance sheets, says management professor Peter Cappelli. However, many workers aren't using their vacation days due to canceled summer plans or remote work-related stress, but Slack executive Robby Kwok expects a vacation spike once people feel safer to travel.

A survey by Recruiter shows 51.4% of recruiters expect to be busier and to be hiring more during the next 30 days, while 68% of respondents expect to be recruiting more during the next 90 days. The average recruiter worked on 20 open positions in June, compared with 15 in May and 12 in April.
Lorenzo Lewis started The Confess Project to raise mental health awareness among men of color, whose barriers to help, says licensed clinical social worker Laura Danforth, include a lack of therapists with similar cultural backgrounds. One piece of Lewis' nonprofit is to train barbers on emotional validation, active listening, local resources and using positive language via a 12-month program so they can be mental health advocates for their clients and the community.
