A bill reintroduced this week by Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., would establish a Medicare-style single health care payer system that eliminates cost-sharing and includes long-term-care coverage, but the bill's co-sponsors, including prominent presidential candidates, seem to favor a hybrid approach that includes commercial health insurers. The second approach, introduced in 2018 and called "Medicare for America," would guarantee universal coverage, but it would leave employer-based insurance available for people who want it, maintain Medicare premiums and deductibles, and let health insurance providers operate Medicare Advantage plans.

After getting a report that a woman thought an intruder might have been locked in her bathroom, Oregon sheriff's deputies arrived and opened the door with guns drawn after getting no response. They found no intruder but discovered a Roomba doing "a very thorough vacuuming job," a deputy said.
