Patrick Page was just about to turn 30 when he realised just how disillusioned he’d become with his work in refugee law.
He got to the point, he says, “where I felt I was more full of anger than being motivated by love".
And so he headed for the historic Lebanon Mountain Trail — 470 kilometres of fir and cedar trees, lakes and waterfalls, ancient ruins and craggy mountains dusted with snow.
There, as he tells Geraldine Doogue, he was struck by the country’s beauty as well as its boundless generosity.
This week we also meet Zunie — a Malaysian Muslim and feminist academic who entered into a polygamous marriage with her best friend from high school.
She shares her story, and her research into polygamous family dynamics, with Damien Carrick.
