We are pleased to announce Mitchell Pool will reopen Monday, August 10!
Our staff members are doing well, and we do not have any additional reported positive COVID-19 test results. Our team has been working hard to develop additional safety enhancements to further reduce close contact and risk of exposure onsite. The facility has been fully sanitized and cleaned and has been vacant since closing on Monday, July 27.
Public Swim Time Blocks
Tickets will be available for purchase for public swim time blocks beginning Wednesday, August 5 at 9 am. A reminder that tickets are available to purchase 5 calendar days in advance and can be purchased online or in-person at the Jewett Park Community Center. Public swim will remain capped at 75 visitors per time block, for each 2-hour time block.

Mitchell Pool Lap Swim Reservations
Lap swim reservations will open on Wednesday, August 5 at 9 am for those who have previously purchased a Mitchell Pool Lap Swim Pass. No new passes are available for purchase at this time. A reminder that lap swim reservations can be made 5 calendar days in advance. Lap swim will be available for 45-minute time blocks. You must reserve a lap swim time block to access lap lanes. Each time slot can accommodate up to six lap swimmers (one person in each lane). One time block per day, per guest, can be reserved. Lap swim will be limited to 3 times/week/swimmer to ensure everyone has an equal opportunity to participate.
Additional Precautions to Keep You Safe While Visiting Mitchell Pool
Everyone is required to wear a face-covering while checking in, on the pool deck and in the common areas.
Everyone is required to exit the facility at the end of each time block.
Lounge chairs will not be available; however, patrons are welcome to bring their own chair.
Concessions will not be available and outside food will not be permitted.
High-touch surfaces will be sanitized frequently, and locker rooms will be sanitized every two hours.
Between each “time block” of visitors, staff will sanitize all surfaces and equipment.
Locker rooms will be open for changing, but lockers will be blocked off. Every other shower and restroom stall will be available in the locker rooms.
Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult age 18 or older.
AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS
After School Enrichment Programs registration begins on August 5 at 9 am. Registration is taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Programs will be held at Jewett Park Community Center and Sachs Recreation Center.

The Deerfield Park District understands the need for care this fall for students of working parents. To help alleviate this stress and allow for safe, social interaction, we will be offering our R.E.C. program for children enrolled in grades 1-4 in District 109. This program will begin on August 24, 2020, and run 8:30 am-3:30 pm on days when school is in session. Facemasks will be required for all staff and children except for eating and when outdoors while maintaining a 6 foot distance. Frequent handwashing and sanitizer use will take place throughout the day. Families will be required to complete a brief health screening questionnaire prior to dropping their child off each day.
Each group will have a maximum of 10 students (grouped by grade) and two staff. R.E.C. staff will supervise students while they work remotely on their schoolwork in accordance with the remote learning schedule. Please be advised that our staff will be able to assist with minor issues as needed but will not act as a tutor or teacher during this time. Each student must supply their own laptop and headphones with a microphone each day, in addition to any other school supplies they may need. Lunch is included in this program and will be provided daily by Marla’s Brown Bag Lunch.
Lottery and Registration
Due to the limited number of spots available, registration for this program will be done by lottery. Registration will begin at 9 am on August 5, 2020, and will end promptly on August 12, 2020. We encourage participants to register by the lottery deadline of 5 pm on August 12, 2020. This gives all participants an equal opportunity to register for this program. To be included in the random computerized lottery, your registration must be received by park district staff by 5 pm on August 12, 2020. For your convenience, you may mail, drop off or fax your registration form. A deposit will not be required to register for the lottery. Payment for the first month will be due in full when you are contacted for a spot.
