Positive case at secondary school + first NI person s anctioned under Covid-19 travel rules is fined £1,000

Good afternoon,

The far-reaching impact of the Covid-19 pandemic across Northern Ireland was once again on the agenda this afternoon for Stormont's executive ministers, with the backlog of driving tests and a call to help those pubs still unable to re-open among topics for discussion.

Meanwhile, another person has sadly died in Northern Ireland after testing positive for the virus. A further 77 infections have also been detected in the last 24 hours, which means that 467 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Northern Ireland in the last seven days.

There is understandable concern that an increase in Covid-19 infections will follow the re-opening of schools. Today one of Northern Ireland's largest secondary schools has confirmed a pupil has tested positive.
