Good evening,

Good evening,

We’re preparing for a bit of a slow deals week, with Australia Day sure to be a factor in capital markets activity, Lunar New Year celebrations playing out regionally and school holidays entering their last week.

In Street Talk tonight, we’ve spotted another deal at Potentia Capital, which is on a hot streak.

Potentia’s back in its happy hunting ground - Aussie software companies with offshore growth plans - and has picked up a big stake in Brisbane’s rex. Rex, established more than a decade ago, sells software that helps real estate agents manage property sales processes more effectively.

Potentia has invested alongside the group’s brother founders, and cashed out some of the company’s angel investors.

Elsewhere, we check in on who’s working for Transurban on EastLink (and why it could be a good deal) and take a look at Perpetual ahead of its long-awaited merger day with rival Pendal Group.

Happy reading,

Anthony Macdonald, Sarah Thompson and Kanika Sood
